Direct Deposit of Stimulus: Paid via TurboTax

They're saying that people with their direct deposit info on file with the IRS will get their stimulus money via that info.  However, when we filed we paid for our return fee out of our refund (it ended up costing more than we thought because of additional forms we needed).  So the direct deposit info the IRS has on file for me is actually Turbo Taxes bank.  Not mine.

How will this effect us receiving this government payment?

Ok, Leonard.  That still wasn't the question I asked.  So just say you don't know.

The details are still being worked out by Congress at this time. Once things are finalized we will be able to provide more guidance. You can also stay updated by continuously checking the following links.

Any update on this?

It's been confirmed that refunds are going out as soon as this week (TODAY, even) and will be sent to the direct deposit information on file.

So, are we screwed in getting this stimulus?  We'd like to be able to eat and stuff.

This reply is the latest and most accurate information that TurboTax has regarding if your stimulus check will be deposited to your TurboCard.  The IRS has the final say as to where the stimulus check will be deposited and until they publish that information it is not possible to provide you with a yes or no answer to your question.

I have no idea what you're talking about regarding a 'repaid card'?

Direct Deposit of Stimulus: Paid via TurboTax

Okay, so you changed it to 'Turbo Card', but I still have no idea what that means.

The IRS has said and confirmed payments ARE being made as early as this week to the direct deposit info on file.  That is confirmed.

The TurboCard can be considered a prepaid card.

Yeah, and I'm not asking anything about a prepaid card, am I?  I Have no idea why that is your reply?

To answer your question if you paid the taxes you owed from your personal bank account by providing the bank information on your tax return then the IRS will use that bank information to directly deposit your stimulus check.

If your tax return has your personal bank information that was used to either receive a direct deposit of your refund or was used to pay your tax due then the IRS has your bank information to use for your direct deposit of your stimulus check.

No, Leonard.  Like I explained.  My return has Turbos Tax's bank info, not mine.  My refund will be paid to TT, the return processing fees taken, and then rest forwarded to me.

So the IRS will be paying my stimulus to TT.

No, the IRS will not send your stimulus check to TurboTax.  The IRS knows that the bank information on your tax return is not your personal bank information.  If you do not provide the IRS with your banking information they will send you a stimulus check by mail.  This link What do I need to do to get my stimulus payment? has information you may find helpful.

Nope, Leanard.  You're going to need to verify the info you give people.  I just got off the phone with Turbo Tax and followed up with the IRS.  The IRS say they have no idea who's bank info is on the return, they will send the stimulus to the bank info supplied.  TT also says that they did not anticipate this, they have no solution yet.

Why would you have entered Turbotaxes bank info as your direct deposit? How did you get your refund then? I filed through turbotax and used a turbotax prepaid intuit card to get my refund and it didn't go to their bank. I've also filed in the past and used my own bank info and got my refund that way. I think you're not understanding what Leonard is saying. The money should go into whatever bank info you entered. Not really sure how you had turbo taxes personal bank info to begin with. That's what it sounds like you are saying.
