Direct Debit

My Federal Filing Instructions direct me to "pay by check" but I want to pay by direct debit. I have selected that choice but it shows red.

The warning sign means that something’s still not finished. Either the return isn’t finalized yet, or the File section hasn’t been completed, even if you enter your bank account information.

To Fix this:

• Go to the Federal Review section, then click Review and resolve all flagged issues.
• Go to the File Section, then select E-file.
• In the Payment Method section, select Direct Debit or Electronic Funds Withdrawal and enter your bank account/routing numbers there.

  Remember that direct debit is only available if you choose to e-file. It’s not available for the file by mail option.
