Did they audit you or just send you a letter stating they needed to verify your identity?

1. Audit wrap-up time can vary depending on the type of audit it is and the complexity of the issue at hand since they have to check your financial information and make sure you reported the correct amount of tax. 2. If they sent you a letter requesting more information to verify your identity, possibly Letter 4883cC or 5071C; then that can take up to nine weeks to process. You can also find that information here Understand Your 4883C Letter
