Hello, I accidentally selected the box that says “some can claim me as a dependent”. I’m 38 years old so this was clearly a mistake. I originally filed my taxes on April 7th but on April 15th I updated everything in the amendment section. I submitted it and just now mailed my printer amendment forms. But it actually shows The new info when I download a copy of my tax return that was submitted to the IRS for the stimulus. So I’m wondering if the IRS actually got to corrected info since it shows in my profile on TurboTax but I just mailed the paperwork in? Can someone please tell me because I’d hate to miss my stimulus payment because of a mistake, even tho I can probably get next year. Thanks 🙂

The updated information that you are seeing in your TurboTax account is due to the amended return that you completed and mailed. Once you made those changes, the original return that was electronically filed is no longer saved.
Now you will need to be patient and wait for the IRS to receive and process the amended return. That is the only way they will have the corrected information.
Ohhh that totally answers it. So still no word on whether the IRS is giving out the stimulus check long enough to maybe catch those of us who filed amendments? And thanks a lot for answering that bit.
