I claimed my son as a dependent, since he still qualifies. When I did my sons taxes, I forget to check the box that "someone else claiming his SSN as a dependent". When I went to submit my taxes electronically, it was rejected due to Dependent SSN error. I went back into my son's tax return and did an amendment and successfully changed it to check the box correctly that "someone else is claiming him as as dependent". This was submitted and electronically accepted and he already has his return deposited into his bank account.
Now, when I try to submit my tax return, I still get rejected due to "someone else claiming SSN as a dependent". Could this be because the amendment to my son's tax return still hasn't been posted electronically, which is acting as a blocker to my return? Or will this always be a blocker and I need to submit paper through mail?
Thanks Dan

The amendment will have no affect on your ability to e-file a tax return. Since a tax return has already been received with his SSN, you cannot e-file a return with his SSN on your return.
You will have to print and mail your tax return, claiming your son as a dependent.
See this TurboTax support FAQ for how to print a tax return for mailing when using the online editions - https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/printers-printing/print-mail-return-turb...
