Why do people have to wait on amended tax.. if you are that **bleep** backed up irs need to hire some new workers .

All 1040s and 1040-Xs submitted for prior years have been entered and processed unless there are other serious issues to be resolved.

IRS is working on 2023 Forms 1040 and 1040-X now.

The Republican-held House does not want IRS to have more workers and won't fund that.
