Hi,

I filed my tax return a little before the government announced they will extended the deadline. I owed money and due to the coronavirus pandemic, I would like to cancel and hope to get my money returned. Is that possible due to the coronavirus pandemic?

Sorry but it is not possible to cancel a filed return.  If it is rejected, you can just choose to not refile it.

@bruce_lenh Federal tax direct debit payments can be canceled up to 2 business days prior to the debit date. To cancel, call the U.S. Treasury Financial Agent at 888-353-4537. Please see the TurboTax FAQ How do I change my payment date? for more information.

Keep in mind you are not actually paying your tax due simply through your TurboTax entries.  Until the IRS processes a direct debit from your checking account, or until they cash your check paying the tax, you have not actually paid anything.
