It depends.   Most importantly, have you already efiled, or if mailing, have you actually mailed it?   Or is the return still in preparation?

What product are you using--online TurboTax or desktop software (CD/download)?
If online Turbotax, is it Free Edition or a paid edition (PLUS or higher)?

You can amend returns that have been accepted by the IRS. If your return is pending, you won't be able to make any changes until it's accepted or rejected by the IRS. If you don't know your e-file status, we can help you check it.
