I submitted the amended return one day after submitting the original return.

You can see the status of your amended return at   Check Your Refund .

If you wish to contact the IRS, you can call toll-free at 800-829-1040 

You can check the status of your tax return.  You will need:

• Social Security Number.
• Tax return year.
• Hilling Status.
• Exact refund amount

It may be confusing because the original return may not be processed.

We recommend that the amended return is not filed until the original is processed.
