Can I edit my California amended tax return?

No. You cannot manually edit Form 540 in TurboTax Online. TurboTax will update your Form 540 information as you make changes in the California section while amending your return.

Unlike the IRS and some states, there is no “before” and “after” column. Your amended Form 540 shows the final product. Schedule X, which is filed with Form 540, allows you to explain the changes you made.
