Can I amend my 2024 taxes if federal accepted but state is still pending?

I filed my taxes and federal accepted the return but state is still pending. I need to amend the return. Do I need to wait until state accepts the return before I can amend it?

Before starting to amend the tax return, wait for the tax refund to be received or the taxes due to be paid and processed by the IRS.

The 2024 federal amended tax return, Form 1040-X, will not be available for filing using TurboTax until 02/20/2025
