No, you can't add scanned document to your income tax return that you want to e-file. The IRS allows certain forms to be mailed in three (3) after you e-file. See form 8453 U.S. Individual Income Tax Transmittal for an IRS e-file Return for the approved forms.

If the documents is not one of the approved forms, you may have to mail in your return.
