I got a letter in the mail from the IRS stating I may be eligible for EIC, but did not claim it. How do I know if I am eligible for this?

you paid for live help so I would use it to go over your situation to determine if you are entitled to EIC.   you may have answered a question incorrectly so the  TT program thought you weren't entitled.   if all questions were answered correctly and you were entitled to EIC, TT would have automatically calculated it.

Be aware that they are some scams involving fake IRS letters trying to get personal info, etc., so be careful.  We won't know in this forum if your letter is legitimate or not.

With your Live Self-Employed product you get live on-demand help from a CPA/EA expert, and a review of your return prior to filing, which they will sign.   Did you not ask for your final review of the return prior to filing?  You paid for all that as part of your product charge.   You also get continued live tax help/advice throughout the year.

Here's how to reach a Live tax expert on Monday.   Hours are 5AM-5PM Pacific (8AM-8PM Eastern) Monday-Friday.
