I received the message Take Action: Your refund is delayed Reference code 1541. Never seen that in the history of filing my taxes ! Anybody else seen this?

Just posting a couple facts I found on the IRS website... hoping to ease our minds a little 🙂 .....The IRS reminds taxpayers that, by law, the IRS cannot issue refunds claiming the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) and the Additional Child Tax Credit (ACTC) before mid-February. While the IRS will process those returns when received, it cannot issue related refunds before mid-February. The IRS expects the earliest EITC/ACTC related refunds to be available in taxpayer bank accounts or on debit cards starting on Feb. 27, 2018, if they chose direct deposit and there are no other issues with the tax

The TA is calling me back tomorrow. They filed a report today will find out what the issues is if any, and work to get my refund released. That’s how they explained it to me. They were very helpful, all they could see was the hold for Path and didn’t understand why it was under review. So they open a claim. I will update tomorrow after I talk to the Ta again and figure out why or what the review is about.

It was a three hour hold to get to the intake advocate, the second step in the process with a TA so if you call them be prepared to hold for a good amount of time.

I just waited on hold for the IRS for 38 mins, it said"please hold", rang, and then disconnected! I'm going crazy wondering if I'm up for review or if my status will be updated!

It's better to call right at 7am I got thru within 20 mins yesterday. Everyone is getting different answers when they call I just pray I get mines Feb 27th like the lady said

TA just told me that my employer didn’t report my wage, or dates of employment. That’s why I am under a review. I have to get them to fill out a letter head, with all my information along with withholdings, etc. fax it to them and they will be calling me back on Monday the 25th but she said it could take up to six week.

sjmiller0323......Did you get code 1541? Is that why you were consulting with your TA?

Yes I contacted the irs and they said I was under a review. So I contacted the TA to find out why. She was able to start a case and tell me what it was about, it wasn’t only the PATH but something about my employer as well. I’m a little confused because I’m not sure what I am doing or needing to get. Going to call to a tax office and ask them for help on this and what information I am needing to send. It all started with the 1541 code

I’ve been at the same job for years now. I did call H&R Block and the lady said it wasn’t a big deal. Send in my w2 with picture idea and it should be fine. So I’m going to fax that tomorrow. I’ll keep this updated, fingers crossed this work
