Hey there! So I have to file an ammendment for my partner's tax return (left out a W2) and had a few questions. For context the original has been accepted by federal and state.
1. Should I wait until she receives the refund and file the ammendment? Only asking this because when I started the process for ammendment via Turbotax, after inputting the other W2 that was left out, she owed money for both federal and state. I did read online from others stating to wait for refund from original return and then ammend.
2. During the ammendment process (I do plan on e-filing since it's more convenient) do I include the original tax documents as well or is it just the missing W2?
3. I'm also assuming that I will need to pay for the upgraded version of turbotax to file ammendment right?
Thanks in advance!

Any suggestions?
If you e-File 1040-X TurboTax takes care of sending in the required forms.
There nothing further for you to do.
1040-X assumes you got, or will get the original refund.
Review 1040-X very carefully and understand it before you SUBMIT it.
Hey there, do you suggest waiting for the original tax refund to deposit into the bank account, then file for the ammendment? Also based off of your answer do I just enter the missed W2 only when filing ammendment?
Following up on that question, in that case do I have to submit an amended return prior to April 18th to avoid fees, etc.?
i efiled federal 4-12 it is accepted. 4-13 found mistake that lowers refund, on 4-14 filed ammended return.
do I wait to see which refund I get or pay extra now ( the difference between the bigger, wrong, refund and the real refund? I am likely to have to get 2 seperate refunds that way....
