Ammended return

I amended my papers because i moved to a different apartment. I changed my address and I can’t received any mails from IRS. I filed my tax on jan and it’s already April, but i didn’t received anything so i have no choice but to change my address in turbo tax. I received an email that i need to verify my identity, so I made the necessary changes. However, when i tried to amend my papers my turbo tax went to 0  so my irs papers became 0 as well. I don’t know if I’ll continue the process of verifying my account knowing that my W2 went to 0 or I need to contact turbo tax to help me with my paper😢 Can someone help me with my problem please?

It's not clear, but I hope you did not submit an amendment with incorrect amounts.

IRS has a separate form you use to change your mailing address.

There's a trick to change your address with 1040-X but IRS probably frowns on it and no guarantee it will work.

Also, IRS is currently three months behind processing 1040-X.

Submit a mail forwarding form at the Post Office and you will get IRS letters.

I think Post Office won't send a refund to the forwarding address.

Amending a tax return is not the way to change just your address with the IRS.

Here is the form for changing your address with the IRS.

Make sure you have submitted a change of address and mail forwarding request to the U.S. post office.
