I did my taxes and missed one question of what I made in 2018 -I didn't have that at the time (I now know what that is ) it said I could send that in (not sure of the correct address for that) plus a W-2 came for my husbands long term disability that we forgot about which needs to be filed with the Federal return . what is the best way for me to do this , I have never had to Amend anything before ?

If you missed adding a W2 when filing your tax return, you'll want to determine if the IRS or state has accepted your tax return. You can check your refund status here. If they have accepted your return, then you may need to amend your tax return. If your return was rejected, you can add the W2, correct the reason for rejection and resubmit. You will receive an email from us on how to fix the return

Hi,

Both went through because I did get my State refund and I did pay what I needed to pay into for Federal so I am not sure how will I know it is ok I do remember that when I got finished with my taxes it said it was accepted but I still want to make sure especially with forgetting my husbands W-2 .

I am unclear of your follow up question. If you missed a W2 the IRS may still accept your return but you may still need to file an amendment. Please review the FAQ I attached above.
