Amending a 2023 Return

When I tried to send Amended return I received a transmission error. Turbo Tax said I couldn't efile a 2023 return.

A transmission error usually occurs when a form that you need is currently not available.  Please provide a complete description of the error message received so that we may assist you.

In the meantime, Sounds like your computer may be experiencing a loop.  Let's clear your cookies, history and cache' then reboot.

Cookies are small files that temporarily store data on your computer. We use them to personalize your experience so you see information you already entered and not items that are irrelevant or repetitive.

On rare occasions, they may make your browser think you already did something that you still need to do. To fix that, you'll need to delete (clear) the cookies from your browser.

Each browser has a slightly different method for deleting cookies. Choose the browser you're using:

• Mozilla Firefox
• Google Chrome
• Safari
• Safari for iOS (mobile devices)

I cannot efile an amended return for 2023 and I have followed all suggestions.

This is what Turbo Tax says:

"Your transmission didn't go through

We could not e-file your return for the following reason:

Tax Year 2023 transmissions are not available."

Make sure you have used all the following guidelines for your amended return. If you are still unable to e-file your amendment for the current year, please call TurboTax Customer service.  Here is a link:  Turbo Tax Customer Service 

If you want to make changes or add a document to a tax return that has already been submitted, you should follow these guidelines. 

• You must first wait until the initial return is completely processed. 
• You will have to use the same TurboTax account that you used for the original tax return. 
• Once you begin your amendment, you'll see your original return.  
• The refund calculator will start new at $0 and only reflect the changes in the refund or tax due 
• Only make changes to the areas of your return that need amending. 
• You have three years from the date you filed your return or two years after you paid the tax due (whichever is later) to file an amendment
