Amended return for 2022 and want to direct deposit the refund

The IRS says this:

IR-2023-22, Feb. 9, 2023

WASHINGTON — In the latest improvement for taxpayers, the Internal Revenue Service announced today that people electronically filing their Form 1040-X, Amended U.S Individual Income Tax Return, will for the first time be able to select direct deposit for any resulting refund.

However TurboTax does not yet allow this. Will the software be updated soon? When?

Yes. With direct deposit for that refund. The amended return gives me a little more refund.

The ability to direct deposit an amended return is a new process with the IRS. Turbo Tax will need to update our software in order to direct deposit the amended refund. 

Currently you would receive the refund via check in the mail. @jc8888

It is at least 2 months old.  So not all that new.  And I thought TurboTax claims to be very up to date on tax law changes.  So, when will this change be made?  I do not want to get a check by mail.  I prefer to have direct deposit, as the IRS offers.

Until the update is made, you will receive your refund in the form of a check.
