My amended return is approved to file.  There is a discrepancy on"Your final numbers"page. At the top of the page is Your final numbers FEDERAL TAX DUE (amending) $37 which is correct.  Below that, Federal tax due is $1,628, way out of line.

Did you owe $1,591 when the original return was filed?

The 1040X is correct then as you owe only $37 more dollars if you paid the $1,591 already.

When a 1040X is filed, a corrected 1040 is produced and it shows the return with everything when filed plus the Amended.
