Amended Return after letter from IRS

We received a letter from IRS about the Form 1095.  When reviewing my original return I found a keying error on one of the W2s.  This changed the refund from $1340 to $10.  We have not received the check.  Do I file an amended return with the return letter about the Form 1095 or do we just wait for IRS to find the keying error?

Amended Return after letter from IRS

No it was not.  She only said if IRS had NOT processed the return but they HAVE processed the return and sent me a letter.  SO, do I hold off on the amended return and let them find the mistake on the W-2 keying error?  That will wipe out the refund down to $10.

Ok ... so the IRS stopped the processing of the original return and requested the 8962 & 1095-A  so that is all you should address at this time.   Once the IRS finishes processing the original return, if they don't catch your error, then you can file an amended return.  Amending out of order can mess things up and delay the processing of both returns.

what does the IRS letter say?  we do not need amounts.

if you got health insurance thru your employer mistyping the amount on the w-2 should not result in the letter

if you had health insurance (Obamacare/AC) thru the Marketplace - you should have gotten a 1095-A then the iRS is likely looking for form 8962. Market place insurance is not reported on your W-2

forms 1095-B and C are not reported on your return.

some other mistyped numbers would change your refund but without knowing what the letter says and what box has the wrong number, its impossible to say whether an amended return is required.
