Question

Amend tax return with multiple state is not free

Hi, 

  When I filed the 2019 tax return (federal and 3 states) using online TurboTax last year, it is free. I would like to amend the federal tax return. I used the download software method to install TurboTax amend software and I opened the .tax2019 file (from download) but required to download states (only the first state is free). In order to continue the finish amend process, I need to pay the other states fee. Is that true? I just want to amend the Federal return.

I  have the same problem. Seems dodgy to have a hidden fee like that.

You do not need to purchase an additional state in order to amend your return, as you only need to amend the federal return.
