admended return

I filed and was due a 417 dollar return. I missed my 1099-G, so I admended my return adding almost 10,000 to my return with no federal withholding of the added amount.  Now the admended return states a return of 538 dollars. I do not understand is this an additional 500 dollars, or does this include the initial 417 that was added to the admended return.

The refund on your amended return should be in addition to the refund you already received. There may be more than just the unemployment at play here, there were changes to the regulations regarding premium tax credits, so if you had insurance through the government exchange, that may account for an additional refund amount.

Of course, this is assuming you reported the refund amount you received properly when you completed the amended return.

So if I were to use TurboTax and make a new return (not to submitted) with all of the info in it, it should have the same amount as the orignina and the amended return?

The new form 1040 will have the updated information as a new return.  The form 1040X will show what if any extra refund or amount owed is applicable.
