Why is my account transcript showing my return filing date in the future as 11-20-23, when it hasn't happened yet and I filed on Oct 15?
The transcript also shows late penalties for "filing after the due date of 11-20-23". I do owe late penalties for filing late with no extension but what's up with the date?
Has my return been processed or still to be processed? The IRS sent over my income to SSA as per the filed return and I thought code 150 meant processed and filed but the future date is completely throwing me.

If you file before the filing deadline, the filing date of record is the filing deadline, not the date the date you actually filed or the date the IRS processed your tax return. I suspect that you are in an area (in California) that has had the tax filing deadline changed to November 2023 and filed after that change to the filing deadline was made by the IRS.
(This is different than filing on extension after the filing deadline. In that case the filing date of record is the date that the tax return is actually filed.)
