Yes you need the letter you have to provide them with that reference number when you call them.

Did they ask for info from w2 or the tax return because I only have the returns except for my prior year still waiting on that in the mail

Yes they do they ask inf from last year taxes and inf from this year taxes also

I’m in the same boat as everyone here. Filed and accepted 1/31. Head of household, EIC, with dependents. Bars showed processing until 2/23, when they all disappeared, and I got the “no information” junk. When I change to “single,” writing says “still processing” without bars. In reading the above comments, does it seem the IRS is specifically hitting recently divorced people with this verification? Also, anyone in here an early filer with EIC who got the letter? When did you get it? Still waiting for a letter....

@jenbehagg wait til Wednesday or Saturday you might see a change in status. I've got verified 2/20 and Saturday I got my which is the 27th.
