child's father and I have court order that states which of us can file and claim our 3 children each year (1 year I claim 1 child and he claims 2, and the next year it reverses). When TurboTax desktop asked me about the children (it has all of the children's information from previous year's filings), I answered that I had an agreement for the 2 children he was claiming, and checked the box that said the other parent was claiming that child. Yet it apparently included one of those 2 children he filed for only under the earned income credit schedule, because my efile was rejected stating that the earned income credit had already been claimed by someone else for that child. I then went back and deleted the two children entirely from my dependents (even though it even stated in that screen that these children were not being filed as dependents by me) and it reduced my refund by $894. My question is am I able to attempt to efile this correction version, or do I have to file by paper now? Turbotax sure has become confusing for even the well versed, and I am guessing it's because of AI.

Yes, you can electronically file the return again since you have removed the child from your return that had already been claimed. Everything should go through as expected.
Attempting to electronically file a return is not an issue unless your return has been rejected a certain number of times (I think three is the limit). At that point, filing by mail is required. Or, you would need to file by mail in order to claim the child if it had been your year and the child had been claimed already.
