I am attempting to eFile and amended 2023 return. I get a message saying that "Tax 2023 transmissions are not available." Do I need to wait until after April 15th to eFile this return?

No, you don't need to wait that long, but if you filed your original return recently, you need to wait until after you get your original refund, or at least 21 days after your return is accepted if you owe.
Once you are ready to try again, be sure to let the program update completely when you open it.
Hi Julie,
Thanks for your reply. It has been over 30 days since I filed my original return, the software is up to date, and I am still getting the error message. Is there anything else that I can do?
Thanks,
George

I am having the same problem, with the desktop version.
I eFiled both fed and state, received acceptance 30 days ago.
The Turbotax software states I must mail my amended federal return, and eFile my state return.
The software won't allow me to eFile my state return, because it says I didn't Efile the Fed or state originally (I did).
I called customer service, they where no help. Told me there is a lot of changes going on with the desktop and online versions, which may be causing the problem. She told me to reload the software on my computer. I bought the software from Costco. I cannot, since I no longer have the "code" to load the software.
Seems this is a software glitch.
Any suggestions to resolve?
I installed the update from 3/14 (yesterday) and am still having the same problem. I purchased the program from Intuit, but it seems it will not let me download it again. Will re-installing the program actually work, or is it a suggestion to try. If it will actually work, perhaps there is some way Intuit can make a download available?

I spoke to customer service. They instructed me to manually update the software, which I did.
However, this didn't fix the problem. They escalated this issue to the software development team, they should have a fix in a few days. If not, then mailing in my amended claims may be the only option.
