I have used turbo tax for many years. I was advised by the IRS that my check was sent to MY bank on 5/3. I called MY bank. No sign of any deposit from the IRS. I began puilling out copies of my old tax returns. I noticed the section with the routing and account numbers. The account number was NOT MINE! Today, I found out my refund went to Green Dot Bank, whose account number was on my return. Who authorizes Turbo Tax to change someone's account number. Must be something illegal about that. Turbo Tax charged me $28.00 to file taxes, which I approved. Green Dot Bank charged me another $30.00 to send a check to me. I didn't want a check. I wanted a direct deposit. The check will be mailed today. I MIGHT have it in 10 days. Nowhere does Turbo Tax tell you about the $30.00 charge. I am a widow. I am fighting cancer. I live in low income housing and every penny matters to me desperately. I drive a 2005 vehicle that just needed a new starter for $600 and so needed my refund to simply exist. I WILL NEVER USE TURBO TAX AGAIN OR RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE.

TurboTax does not receive any kind of tax refund, federal or state.
If you requested to have the TurboTax account fees deducted from your federal tax refund, the IRS will send the refund to a third party processor to have the fees and the service charge deducted. The third party processor will deduct the TurboTax fees plus the service charge and then attempt to direct deposit the remaining refund balance into the account that you entered on your tax return.
For the status of your tax refund you will need to contact the third party processor, Santa Barbara Tax Product Group, using their website - https://www.sbtpg.com/
