I just learned that Hurricane Ian was finally "officially" categorized as a qualified disaster with new regulations.
I did not file a schedule A form with my original return but it is my understanding that due to recent changes in the regulations, I am able to amend my return to include these expenses (minus $500 and any insurance payments received).
I am a senior and searching for my original 2022 turbo tax CD.
Assuming I find the CD soon, will the new form(s) be on my original 2022 turbo tax CD or will turbo tax just email a form to me to complete or do I need to contact the IRS for this?

You can add the loss for each casualty over $500 to your standard deduction or itemize. The programs have to all be updated to accommodate for the law changes. The program will have updates available at some point.
