2019 Amended Return

I opened the 2019 return in the 2019 program and it came up exactly as filed. When I clicked on the amend button the State tax refund reset to -0- (as it should have), but the federal return went from a tax due of 16 to a tax due of 296 without any input from me. When I scroll over the federal tax button the amounts are correct, but the 1040x form amounts show incorrect from the original filing(showing a refund instead of tax due)

How do I file the the 2019 amended return?

Since we can't see your return in this forum, could you be more specific about which lines on your originally filed return don't match the 1040X 'Original Amount' column and we'll try to help.

Lines on the 1040X that didn't match the original were: Line 1 $2,080 Less; Line 2 $157 Lower; Line 4b $416 lower, also tax was lower and SE tax was lower, my estimates were 200 lower, and it said I had an original refund of 280( I paid $16). All I did was click on the amended button. The 1040-SR behind the 1040X was my original filing. The Calif 540X looked ok. Because I needed to get this done, I completed the 1040X correctly by hand.
