2015 federal retrn never received

Everything is fine and correct. It was received and accepted successfully. It was an overpayment owed to me

Do you mean your 2015 Federal refund was never received?

Did you efile the return?  If so, did you get an email that the return was submitted, followed by a later email that the return was accepted?

You can phone the IRS to see if they actually received the 2015 return.  I'll tell you how below.

If you efiled, you can phone TurboTax Support, and they can tell you if the return was successfully efiled and accepted, or whether it was rejected.    If you mailed the return, then only the IRS will know.  Here's how to reach TurboTax Support:

FAQ:  How do I contact TurboTax?
https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/3401489

And here's how to contact the IRS:    800-829-1040  hours 7 AM - 7 PM local time Mon-Fri

When calling the IRS do not choose the first choice re: "Refund", or it will send you to an automated phone line.

  • First choose your language.  Listen to each menu before making the selection.
  • Then press 2 for "personal income tax".
  • Then press 1 for "form, tax history, or payment".
  • Then press 4 "for all other questions."
  • Then press 2 "for all other questions."  It should then transfer you to an agent, but there is likely to be a long wait.

I usually use a speakerphone so I can work on something else while waiting.

You're suddenly returning to a thread that you posted over 2 years ago (January 2017).   You didn't say anything about what the IRS has been telling you for the last 2 years.  What is the IRS saying about why you didn't get your 2015 refund??

If you can't get information or results from the IRS, here's how to contact the IRS Taxpayer Advocate Service.

At the following IRS website, find the USA map and click on your state, and it will give you the number of your IRS Taxpayer Advocate.
