I did a non-taxable rollover of part of my 401k account during 2021.  Although receiving a 1099-R, I forgot to load it before I filed my taxes.  The only boxes filled in on my 1099-R form are Box 1 -- Amount, and Box 7 -- Distribution Code "G".

Given no tax implications, am I required to file an amended return or not?

No, you are not required to file an amended tax return.  You are correct the 1099-R will not have any impact on your return as it will not affect your tax liability.  It is possible that you may receive a letter from the IRS to notify you that the 1099-R was not reported but it will be for informational purposes only.
