1040.com refund $200 more than TurboTax

To file our NYS tax, we're using 1040.com. They required filling out a federal 1040 from which they imported data to complete a NY IT-201. I copied the data from our TurboTax forms, which i've already e-filed, to complete the 1040.com process.

The federal refund calculated by 1040.com is $200 higher than what TurboTax Deluxe calculated for us. So we purchased TurboTax to end up with $200 less of a return!

Do we have any recourse from Intuit?

Should we re-file/amend our federal return?

:(

At this point you don't know which Federal return is correct--only that the amount of refund is different between the 2 products.  Higher refund doesn't necessarily mean "more correct."    What I would do first, is to print out the Federal return that each site prepared and compare them line by line.   When you spot a line that has a differing entry, that will give you a clue of what topic to further investigate.   When you spot the differing figure, you may have to look at a worksheet to see where the figure actually came from.   When comparing the two, look for any transposed figures, missing or incorrect commas, decimals, etc.

In my 1010.com submission, i neglected to include prior year distributions, which eliminates our Retirement Savings Contribution Credit for 2023. 🙄
