What does "Your tax return is still being processed. A refund date will be provided when available." Exactly mean?

I doubt seriously that this even means your tax return needs additional review.  I filed on in mid March and received that "your tax return is still being processed" message until yesterday, when it finally said my return had been approved.  I got my refund today, May 5. While there may be some who are receiving their money in the normal 21 days, I think Covid-19 has to be delaying things.  

A few days ago, I was feeling very confused about my checks, but I see now that I am far from alone. THe bottom line is that I regret using Turbotax. I'll never use this service again.

There is only one thing we can do and one things only at this point.....WRITE YOUR REPS!

I worked for many years processing letters sent to the president, congress, etc from constituents. They are statutorily required to respond in most cases within 10 working days. Believe me...all we can do now is bombard his office with letters, faxes and emails.

Start voicing your issues to this person first....the head of the IRS.

I filed March 4th mine says it's being reviewed and that I will get a letter within 30 days I cant call anyone because thered nobody to call I am getting so frustrated it's been over 45 days....

I'm still waiting on my stimulus money too irs tried to make seem as if my bank account infor was wrong which i use the same bank for two years. So i had to keep going on until i was able to get it re submitted now all it say no date yet money will be deposit in my account. That has been awhile now it does not make since to me about what the hold up is. 

I filed Feb 1st so what the hell do they mean 21 days? And I e-filed and did direct deposit? It's been 90 days! I can't get any real answers either and it's pissing me off that you can't get a person on the **bleep** phone and the irs.Gov doesn't tell you **bleep**! Email them and get an automated response! I love how they can take their time but if we're late they charge us interest ! Are we gonna get interest added for paying us late? Beyond frustrated with the IRS !!? No letter no nothing just stuck out here in limbo!

I would like to know why my friend that owns a small business, filed her taxes on April 15th and received Federal,  State and Stimulus check in 2 weeks, when she hasn't filed her taxes since 2016! Mine got accepted on March 16th received my state 3 weeks ago to have someone hack into the bank I use and steal that plus more. 2000 they got now I really need my stimulus and taxes. I am a Single mom, that was making great money bartending since I haven't been able to work since March 12th I have had to use all of my savings and Emergency money. I live in New York State so getting unemployment is going about the same way so I am sinking in bills getting help from absolutely no one. Ready to give up. 

I've been waiting since February as well. I received a letter stating my return was "being held for review " and it would take an extra 60 days.... that was 61 days ago and absolutely nothing has changed and no more info has been given.

I e-filed start of March but still no refund. Status still says processing. Account transcript says "570 Additional account action pending" meaning refund is withheld pending further review. You can check yours at https://www.irs.gov/payments/view-your-tax-account. At first I thought it might be due to the amendment I filed but it seems many people are experiencing delays.
