Hi Folks,

Today I got in the mail, a W2 corrected (W-2c) in the mail from my employer.  It appears the only important correction is with line 6 medicare Taxes withheld.  It changed from $2706.49 to $2703.86.  Lowered by $2.86.

I have already filed my taxes with TurboTax and got my return. What am I supposed to do?
I called my employer's Payroll rep and left a message.

Thanks for any help

    It depends.

If the corrected W-2 changes your bottom line of the return you have filed, you would need to file an amended return.  If it does not, you don't need to do anything.

    Do I need to amend?

You can start the amended return in TurboTax by following the steps below.  If you see any changes in the total taxes, then you can go ahead and file the amended return.  Do this for both federal and state returns.

    How to amend my return?
