Unhappy Customer

I’ve been a user of the Desktop Product for years.  This was my first experience with the online product.  I am not happy with the experience.  I processed my return in January with the Feds online.   It was initially accepted by the Feds, but got held up due to security issues introduced by Turbotax process.   I cleared up the security issues in early March.  The return/refund has been in limbo since (despite appealing to Turbotax for clarification).   I just successfully amended my return on a whim because my IRS transcript reported an odd $4 penalty for a late estimated tax payment.  Turbotax should have flagged an exception based on their own records.  Turbotax account records indicated my return had been “accepted” by the Feds, but with security exceptions and account irregularities.  Turbotax should have flagged this exception to my attention.  I hope someone responds.  Otherwise, I’ll need to consider additional action including a request for a refund unless someone can explain the delays I’ve encountered as “user-error”.

not taking sides here, but understand that “accepted” just means that the IRS is in receipt of your tax return.  It doesn’t mean it was reviewed, audited or approved.   I’ve always thought the IRS chose a really confusing word to communicate receipt of an efiled tax return.

it would have been the same ‘accepted’ whether you used the online or desktop version of turbo tax or any other tax software.

curious what was the security issue? it should not have been any different whether using the Online version or the Desktop version.
