I already filed and received my income tax check.

The expanded Earned Income Tax Credit is for tax year 2021 only. There is nothing to amend tor 2020.

If you reported Unemployment Income on your original return, which made you ineligible for any EIC Credit, you can Amend your return to claim the EIC now.

Click this link for instructions on How to Amend Your Return.

However, if you received SOME EIC (but not the full amount) on your original return, don't Amend Your Return.

In this case, the IRS will adjust the EIC on your original return and send you the difference.
