Question

Didn’t receive full refund

Like many others, I did not receive my full tax return.

I got $425 out of $1,825.
I am not married, have no dependents, debts/offsets, etc that would cause me to not receive the full amount.
I was not told of this issue or given a notice of change by either TurboTax OR the IRS. It still says I’m owed $1,825 on TurboTax yet do not have it.

Let’s get this fixed.

Yeah. That explains nothing. I explained that I have ZERO OFFSETS. No kids, debt, loans, etc. I wouldn’t have been mad if it was $35-40 taken. But I did not receive over EIGHTEEN HUNDRED DOLLARS with ZERO EXPLANATION. That is theft and I’d like the rest of my taxes? TurboTax employees should be trying to make this right, not blowing it off to repeat exactly what I said I DIDN'T HAVE. PLEASE give me the rest of my return that I, through TURBOTAX ITSELF, AM STILL BEING TOLD I AM OWED.

TurboTax is not, "blowing you off".  TurboTax is a Tax preparation platform.  Once your return has been accepted by the IRS, TurboTax is no longer involved in the process.  The IRS makes adjustments to returns based on information that they have on file and do not notify TurboTax about any changes.  Privacy Laws prohibit exchanging client information.

The IRS will issue a Notice of Explanation in a few weeks and you will have an opportunity to challenge them at that time.  It is not a closed case yet.  However, the IRS is not issuing questionable refunds then try to collect later.  They prefer holding the questionable amounts and allow you to verify that the return is correct before issuing the questionable amount.

Same here. The IRS letter shows that I entered the correct amounts but TurboTax miscalculated the refund. A $5000 difference! Huge disappointment and when I called, TurboTax help. They are worthless. ZERO help as they can't see my paperwork. They wouldn't bother checking to see where TT calculations went wrong. Then what good is paying extra for their help and "extra" checking on my stuff? NEVER AGAIN!!!
