Turbo Tax Deluxe GLITCHES.

For several years now in the row:

1) TurboTax Deluxe Version does NOT give me an easy way to fill in my Estimated Federal AND State Taxes alredy PAID. Very difficult to find the correct palce in the Program.

2) It makes mistakes EVERY YEAR resulting in refunds for OVERPAID Penalties that are then refunded by the IRS & State.

FIX THOSE GLITCHES, YOU MORONS!!.

Thanks for reaching out here with your concerns. 

Are you Self-Employed? If so, there's places where you can add in that information of taxes paid throughout the year. I'd have to do research in the Deluxe version to get a better idea of your experience. 

The bright side is you're getting a refund (although I do understand your frustration).

There are several paths for entering the estimated taxes paid, Federal, State or Local, when using the Deluxe Edition (Desktop or Online)

If using Desktop to enter, edit or delete estimated taxes paid (Federal, State, Local) -

• Click on Federal Taxes (Personal using Home and Business)
• Click on Deductions and Credits
• Click on I'll choose what I work on (if shown)
• Scroll down to Estimates and Other Taxes Paid
• On Estimates, click on the start or update button

If using the TurboTax desktop CD/Download or online editions -

Enter estimates paid in the Search/Find box located in the upper right of the online program screen. Click on Jump to estimates paid

If using the TurboTax online editions -

Click on Tax Tools on the left side of the screen.
Click on Tools
Click on Topic Search
Type in estimated tax payments, click on GO

On the screen "How much did you pay in federal estimated taxes?" it will not allow me to enter data.  The dates and $0 on the screen are grey.

When you see greyed out fields like that, it most likely means you used Supporting Details to make your entries in the prior year. You will need to right-click on that field and choose Supporting Details again this year.
