You will get an email from TurboTax when you extension is accepted. You can also go to the TurboTax Check Your E-File Status website for the status of the e-filed extension. If the extension was received and accepted, there will be date/time stamps when it was received and accepted.

The IRS states that unless you hear from the IRS that your request for an extension is denied, you may presume that your request for extension has been granted and that your new due date for filing is October 15, 2020.

Note that this sort of denial on individual returns is extremely unlikely.

I sent in the extension form {that I printed from my turbo tax} by postal mail on april 12, 2022; should I be getting some kind of email/text that it was received
