If you have mailed your tax return the IRS says that you can start tracking it 4 weeks after mailing your paper return via the Where's my Refund site: https://www.irs.gov/refunds

If the return you wish to track is an amended tax return please see the following:

Three weeks after you have mailed your amended return you can track it by visiting the following link: Where is my Amended Return or by calling the toll-free telephone number 866-464-2050.
