I filed a federal extension by mail. Now I'm ready to e-file my return through Turbo Tax. Do I need to upload a copy of my extension?

No, you don't need a copy of your extension. The IRS knows you filed the extension. You don't have to do anything special. Just file your return the same as if you didn't get an extension.

However, if you made a payment with the extension, make sure the payment is entered in your tax return. It should be on Schedule 5, line 71. If you prepared the extension in TurboTax, the amount of your payment should have been entered automatically. If it wasn't, you have to enter it yourself. See the FAQ at the following link for instructions to enter the amount you paid with the extension.
