I had a company do 2017 taxes& I didn't include childcare when I filed. How can I amend last year to include child care if I didn't use TurboTax & didn't prepare myself?

I had a company do my 2017 taxes last year & I didn't include child care costs when I filed in 2018.  I used TurboTax Deluxe this year and included my 2018 child care costs.  How do I do an amendment for last year to include my 2017 child care costs if I did not use TurboTax & didn't prepare taxes myself? I'm not sure how to fill out the 1040X form since I don't have access to the process the company used to prepare my taxes.

In order to amend your 2017 tax return using TurboTax if your original return was not prepared in TurboTax, you first need to recreate the original return exactly as it was originally filed.  You should be able to do this by using your original documents and a copy of the 2017 tax return that the company prepared for you.

After you input your 2017 return into TurboTax exactly how it was filed originally, you then indicate in TurboTax that you want to file by mail and print out the original return.
