In order to amend your 2017 tax return using TurboTax if your original return was not prepared in TurboTax, you first need to recreate the original return exactly as it was originally filed. You should be able to do this by using your original documents and a copy of the 2017 tax return that the company prepared for you.
After you input your 2017 return into TurboTax exactly how it was filed originally, you then indicate in TurboTax that you want to file by mail and print out the original return.
