I live in Alabama but worked in Mississippi and Louisiana but made under 400.00 in the out of states. The refund and credit is not worth the filing expense.

You didn't actually ask a question here, but states have different filing requirements ,  For LA, a nonresident who is required to file a federal return and earns money from a LA source , is required o file a state return.  MS requires filing if you have any taxable income from MS. 

 You could try just printing out forms from the state websites or seeing if they even offer filing on their web site, once you've completed your Federal return.
