My brother filed his taxes already and got his refund but he didn't realize that he forgot to file 2 W-2 forms that showed up in his mailbox later. He is going to have to use the stimulus portal to give the IRS his information since he had opted for a check in the mail. Would he have to enter the amount he got back from his refund and AGI from his first initial tax return that he filed or would he have to add both the refund amount he got back from the first check plus the refund amount from the amended return? And would that also apply to the AGI? (He is waiting on his second deposit from his amended return.) From my understanding, the IRS is taking steps to verify information when the portal is available and will need the amount you got back or the amount you owe them. You will also have to enter your AGI. So I really don't know if he should enter the amount that he got back already or if he has to enter that amount plus his amended amount. I'm just trying to help because he called me and didn't know about the portal until I told him.

Check your account on Wednesday if you don't already have your money. I have a pending deposit in my bank for the 15th.

Did you use the portal to enter bank information regarding the stimulus check? Also, there are mixed stories about the money being sent out. However, if the payments were sent today, then Americans MIGHT be able to see the deposits as early as tomorrow in their bank accounts or possibly all the way til the 14th-15th of next week. Paper checks will be arriving afterwards, all the way til around August or September.

What about people who HAVE filed a tax return and owe the IRS? The option to input direct deposit information doesn't show up. The portal that turbo tax has isn't for these type of people.

I guess not. @Milliesmart0112 Did you do something special to make the number you posted appear here?

Is this forum allowing for us to post numbers again? Just asking because I see the full IRS toll-free number listed here but lately the numbers had to be spelled out. (Let me try it to answer my own question in case I don't get a response) [phone number removed]

@dewilson2023 So sorry to hear about your situation. I honestly think that you will not be receiving the IRS letter and it is a very common problem. I don't know how others feel on here but if anyone would agree that if you set up a go fund me page to help you through, I would contribute. I only say this because you haven't received your letter and most people that go through certain correspondence with the IRS get their refund from months to even a year later. There's no telling how long before the IRS will actually want to help provide you with info being that you didn't receive the letter and most reps there are A1-Nasty. I really do hope something works out for you so that you can provide better for your family. God bless.

@dewilson2023 Sorry for this late reply. It's been a really busy day for me. I mailed my stuff in about 2 years ago but if they accept fax, you would need to call and get the information from them. Since you had a letter, it might have stated to mail it in but for fax, you would still need to know from them what it is that needs to be faxed in (or mailed). I hope this helps. I also hope that they can hurry and process your refund. I know exactly how you feel right now.

@Milkshake They normally send you the whole refund amount, minus any adjustments. If your refund was adjusted, the wmr tool will normally state it. If you don't see it there, the IRS will mail you a letter explaining what happened but 9/10, you won't receive it. If you really want to know, I would suggest calling the IRS to find out if they took a portion of your money away.
