Password protecting is possible with the Adobe Acrobat software (and others...including free Zip compression programs).

Not happy that I have to buy Acrobat to password protect my PDF tax file. I can password protect my tax data file, but I can't password protect my PDF file. That doesn't make sense.

Acrobat was an example. There are also free programs, including zip programs that can password protect.
