In 2018, as part of closing cost we had to pay $943.50 prepaid interest for a time period of 5/2/2018 tru 6/1/2018, isn't this tax deductible as its not on 1098 form

Yes, if you paid interest that was included on the home's closing statement, you can include it in your itemized deduction mortgage interest amount.  See more information below:
