Do you have a TurboTax Online account?

We'll help you get started or pick up where you left off.

I am filing for an extension but have a dependent child who will be filing his own taxes this year. Does he have to also file an extension?

TurboTax is not letting me submit a separate extension request for my dependent child, but he will need to file a separate tax return for his earned income which exceeds $15000.  Does he need to file a separate extension request if he will be reported as a dependent on mine and I have already requested an extension?

Yes, he will need to file a separate extension for his separate return even if you claim him as your dependent.

Do keep in mind that if you owe the IRS, you are liable to pay tax due by April 17, 2018.
