I currently live in Alabama (May 2022 - Dec 2022) and worked for a company in Tennessee (no state income tax) until November 1, 2022, at which time I became employed by a company in Mississippi. I will not move to Mississippi until January 2023. How should I file (state) taxes? Thank you!!

    Hi @vandysoleil

If you work remotely for your company then taxes should be withheld for the state you live in., I.E. Alabama

You will need to only file a tax return for AL.  If you moved from TN to Al in the tax year, you will only allocate the amount you made while in AL.

As far as moving to MS in 2023, you will not have any tax lability in AL since you will not make money from the other company before you move.

    Thank you for choosing TurboTax!
